We are pleased to announce that Dr. Walter Stühmer of the Max Planck Institute for Experimental Medicine in Germany has agreed to serve as senior editor for the Journal of Ion Channels. 

Dr. Stuhmer brings to the journal a wealth of experience with neuronal ion channels, especially potassium channels. He has defined the field of cyclic-nucleotide gated ion channels and we are pleased to have someone with such great experience guiding the editorial functions of the journal.
